Site Canada Wins Chapter of the Year Award
Site Canada is delighted to announce that it has been presented with the ‘Chapter of the Year’, at the Site International Conference in Beijing, China , during a Gala Dinner held at the glittering WaterCube aquatic centre, a cornerstone of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The Site 2012 Chapter of the Year Award was given in recognition of Site Canada’s continual growth, program development, beneficial membership education, and consistent commitment to Site’s brand pillars and mission.
One of the most active Chapters within Site Global, Site Canada has been a leader in representing the motivational event industry for more than 25 years. Site Canada emphasizes member education and trade show involvement, while building ties to the community through charities, scholarships, and university education programs designed to encourage future leaders.
Site Canada is the third largest Site Chapter, but with the sweeping geography of Canada, one of the continual challenges is for members to assemble. Site Canada tackled this challenge by developing a webinar to create a virtual chapter meeting which brought together members across six time zones, from the Atlantic to Pacific. This groundbreaking event featured an interview with Canadian Tourism Commission CEO, Michele McKenzie. For this innovative initiative, and for its commitment to a strategic plan that aligns Site’s communication platform and the Chapter's own community, is why Site Global proudly recognized Site Canada as the 2012 Chapter of the Year.
Accepting the award on behalf of Site Canada was current President, Joanne Keating. Also attending were Past-Presidents, Cathy O’Connor and Rachael Streek-Buma, and Communications Director, Vlad Haltigin.
This is the fourth year in a row that Site Canada has been recognized for its continued commitment to excellence. In 2009 it received Chapter of the Year, and, in 2010 and 2011, the Chapter Award for Membership.
