On April 8, 2021, Meetings Mean Business Canada joins organizations across the globe to support the annual Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID). Under the theme "WE'RE READY," MMBC will host a free, 90-minute virtual event for government decision-makers, media and industry professionals emphasizing the industry's readiness to reopen the travel, meetings and business events economy when restrictions are lifted.

The event will feature industry leaders from across the country, including Destination Canada, Tourism Industry Association of Canada, Convention Centres of Canada, Hotel Association of Canada, destination marketing organizations and more. Participants will address these important topics:

The current status of business travel
The return of international events
State-of-the-art readiness plans and safety protocols
How the industry will help rebuild Canada’s economy
Panel: Moderated by MMBC vice chair Laura Pallotta, a panel will discuss how provincial industry groups are reopening meetings and business events in their respective regions.
